Lopez Hurls Detroit to Shutout Win

Dave Lopez shut 'em down and shut 'em out, hurling the Detroit Sunbirds past the Columbus Stampede 4-0 in a complete game victory.
"This is a game of adjustments and I made some good ones in this game," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview.
Lopez held the Columbus Stampede without a run, tossing a 3-hitter while walking 3 and fanning 8.
Up to now Lopez has compiled an ERA of 3.56 with a 4-5 mark over 14 starts. He has 63 strikeouts in 78.1 innings and has held opponents to a .248 batting average.

Season Ends for Munoz

In a news release, the El Paso Toros announced that catcher Alex Munoz would miss the rest of the season due to a torn calf muscle. Munoz sustained the injury on 06/09/2035. He "will be sorely missed," said his manager.
To date, Munoz has collected 50 hits for a .269 average. He has posted 4 home runs, scored 32 runs and driven in 14 runs.
