Derrek Lee collected another hit in the Cubs 6-5 win over the Rockies. The Chicago first baseman was 1-for-3 in the game. After the game, Diaz commented on his 20-game hitting streak, "I'm not doing too much, just trying to get the bat on the ball and put it in play."
His manager told BNN, "Derrek makes it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup everyday." D. Lee grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off M. Myers in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
In his stats this season, Lee has posted a batting average of .332 with 68 hits in 205 at-bats, 8 home runs and 24 RBIs. He has also scored 29 runs, walked 16 times and compiled a .381 OBP. |  | Sunday, May 25th, 2008: Jimenez out of Action Ubaldo Jimenez and the Colorado Rockies got a bad break in today's game against the Yankees as the team confirmed he will miss 13 months with a torn tricep muscle. The Rockies starting pitcher suffered the injury throwing a pitch. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.
Jimenez has gone 1-1 this season with an ERA of 7.20 and 35 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .339 against him. |  | Wednesday, May 21st, 2008: Garrett Atkins Re-ups with Colorado Flanked by team officials and his agent, Garrett Atkins announced that he'd agreed to terms with the Rockies earlier today.
Officials declined to specify a salary publicly, but in private say the figure is $9,450,000 per year.
