There's something about a young rookie winning the Sub League 1 Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with John Albert, a 23-year-old starter for the Fiskdale Pigeons.
In May, he topped off the month with a 5-1 mark and 1.99 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 45.1 innings, fanned 28 and held opposing teams to a .224 average.
In 12 starts this season Albert has crafted a 8-2 record with a 2.44 ERA. |
| Saturday, May 19th, 2007: Ishikawa 5-6 for Fiskdale
"Believe it or not," said Fiskdale first baseman Travis Ishikawa, "they threw me some good pitches today."
That would be hard to believe for anyone who saw him dispose of the Civics with a great 5-hit performance.
"He made it look easy," said the Concord manager, who saw his team fall to the Fiskdale Pigeons, 15-8. "Hats off to him!"
T. Ishikawa singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
This year Ishikawa has 1 home run and a .367 batting average. |
 | Monday, April 30th, 2007: Jimerson Stretches Hit String to 20
In today's 6-2 win over the Fiskdale Pigeons at Ballpark of Chula Vista, Charlton Jimerson of the Chula Vista Chaos ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in 3 at-bats.
C. Jimerson flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and walked in the 7th.
Presently Jimerson is batting .373 with 38 hits and 1 home run. He has knocked in 8 runs and scored 21 times.
