 | Monday, April 30th, 2007: SL1 Honors Fiskdale Left Fielder Fiskdale's Lorenzo Hernández would not be denied the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for this past week. His consistent stroke, which produced 12 hits in 28 at-bats and a .429 average, made him the clear favorite to win the honor. "You just go out there and do what you have to do," said Hernández, "When I'm up, I try to focus and block everything else out of my mind... and have a good at-bat. I'm up there to get a hit or advance a runner, not to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. I hope I can win this award every week." He also tallied no home runs, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. So far in 2007 Hernández has hit .321 with no home runs and 14 RBIs. He has played in 26 games and scored 16 times. |
