The Boston Red Sox got a great effort from Andy Pettitte as the 35-year-old hurler tossed a complete-game 8-0 shutout over the Texas Rangers. He struck out 4 while allowing 2 hits and walking 2.

To this point in the season, Pettitte shows a 7-0 record, 12 starts, 86.2 innings, 49 strikeouts and a 2.39 ERA.
Sunday, April 20th, 2008: Ramirez Hit String Snapped at 22
The 22-game hitting streak of 35-year-old left fielder Manny Ramirez came to an end today at Fenway Park II. The Rangers held him hitless in 3 at-bats and also sent the Boston Red Sox down to defeat 6-2.

In his stats this season, Ramirez has posted a batting average of .314 with 16 hits in 51 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs. He has also scored 6 runs, walked 3 times and compiled a .357 OBP.
Saturday, April 19th, 2008: 3 Bombs for David Ortiz
It was a good day for Boston and an exceptional day for David Ortiz. The 32-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Red Sox beat the Texas Rangers 6-5 at Fenway Park II.

Following the game, he was asked about his performance. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Ortiz commented, "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."

For the day he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 3 at-bats.

D. Ortiz hit a two-run home run off B. Radke in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off B. Radke in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off B. Shouse in the 9th.
