Ruiz Lays Hammer Down in 2-0 Win
|
The Chicago Stags got a magnificent performance from pitcher Sam Ruiz, who stifled the Milwaukee offense en route to a 2-0 Stags win at Stags Ballpark. With the loss, Milwaukee drops to 4-7.
Ruiz was in midseason form against the Oilmen. He allowed no earned runs on 4 hits and fanned 11 in his 8.1-inning effort.
"I had a good game plan," said Ruiz. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Jaap Snellrijder said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
