Spikes Beat Bakers, 3-1
|
In a tight game between the Jacksonville Spikes and the Phoenix Bakers, pitcher Adam Nemetz was terrific on the mound. The Jacksonville right-hander was named the player of the game in Jacksonville's 3-1 win. The win takes Jacksonville to 4-4.
Victor Bravo was a key contributor to the win for the Spikes. In the top of the eighth with no one out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a double to left. He was 1 for 1 with a double.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Bravo told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
