Loss to Sun Kings Extends Los Angeles Losing Streak
|
In a low-scoring game between San Diego and Los Angeles, pitcher Zach Matthews was excellent. The San Diego right-hander was named the player of the game in San Diego's 3-1 win. In 7 innings, Matthews surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Los Angeles.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Sun Kings had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when catcher Jose Padilla hit a run-scoring double. The double came off Josh Marchand and made the score 2-1, Sun Kings.
