Jesus Rivas pitched a gem to lead Milwaukee to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Stags. Rivas, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. John Knight earned the save, his 5th, for the Oilmen.
Jon Osorio struck a blow for the Oilmen in the bottom of the sixth when he hit a 3-run home run. It put his team ahead, 4-1. For the game, Osorio went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Nice to get this one," said Rivas. "Wins have been hard to come by."
Even with the win, the Oilmen have a dismal 17-36 record.
