Samurai Lay Egg, Lose 13-1 to Seattle
|
The Seattle Yaks got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-1 win over the Los Angeles Samurai. Player of the game honors went to shortstop Eduardo Alban. Alban, who is tied for 2nd in the SL2 with a .336 batting average, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Manny Salazar, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 2 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-2. Seattle has a 3-game win streak, while Los Angeles has lost 3 in a row.
Dean Rhoads brought the hometown crowd to its feet with one out in the bottom of the first. That's when the 27-year old third baseman belted a 3-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Yaks took the lead, 3-0.
"That game had disaster written all over it," said Los Angeles skipper Richard Clowers. "I could feel it."
