Rhoads 5-for-8 Against El Paso
|
Dean Rhoads put on a hitting clinic today as the Seattle Yaks dumped the El Paso Toros 6-5 at Toros Ballpark.
The Seattle third baseman made El Paso defenders earn their pay, lashing El Paso pitching for 5 hits in 8 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Rhoads said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Dean Rhoads singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Brian Paris in the 9th, singled in the 11th, flied out in the 14th, singled in the 17th and hit an RBI single in the 18th.
Thus far this year Rhoads has hit .231 with 9 home runs and 41 RBIs.
