Oilmen Turn Back New York, 8-6
|
The Milwaukee Oilmen knocked off the New York Panthers, 8-6, at Panthers Ballpark. Ji-hwan Park, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Milwaukee won. The shortstop went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The 'W' lifts Milwaukee's record to 61-83.
Milwaukee catcher John Crudge made his contribution to the Oilmen cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning. For the day, Crudge was 2-5 with a double and a walk.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Park, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
