Foxhounds Stick Samurai with 8-2 Loss
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Rich Pollaiuolo, the Indianapolis Foxhounds defeated the Los Angeles Samurai, 8-2. Pollaiuolo went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Foxhounds. Indianapolis starter Jamie Dengler was credited with the win after throwing 113 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 10-10. The first-place Foxhounds have won 4 straight.
The Foxhounds used some clutch hitting to beat the Samurai, a good example being the at-bat of Mark Holder in the top of the fourth. With two down, Holder gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he hit a run-scoring double.
"I like the roll we're on," said Indianapolis manager Chris Dickens.
