Samurai Best Toros in Pitching Duel

The Los Angeles Samurai got a magnificent effort from pitcher Mannuell Fanete, who kept El Paso hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Samurai win at Samurai Ballpark. In 7.1 innings, Fanete surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. Los Angeles now owns a record of 74-59.
The Samurai got an important contribution from right fielder Scott Garcia, who in the bottom of the fifth knocked a full count cutter into center for a run-scoring double. It was his 26th double of the season and put the Samurai ahead, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Los Angeles manager Richard Clowers said.
