Sea Dragons Slip Past New York, 8-7
|
Alex Blanco added some punch to the Ft. Worth offense, helping them outmuscle the New York Panthers, 8-7. In the game, Blanco, who is tied for 8th in the SL1 in triples with 1, was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Ft. Worth reliever Carlos Dorado was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Mario Adame took the loss. Ft. Worth has a mark of 13-9 after the win.
Coming to the plate with two out in the bottom of the tenth inning, Ft. Worth shortstop Roberto Camarena had a chance to be the hero. Facing New York pitcher John Ranum with the bases loaded, Camarena, who is tied for 9th in the SL1 in RBI with 18, hit a walk-off run-scoring single.
"Exciting game to play in," said Blanco. "Getting the win makes it even better."
