 | Tuesday, May 1st, 2007: Bailey Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games The Rowdies proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Rangers 8-7, but Mark Bailey continued his god-like hitting as he collected 1 hit and ran his hitting streak to 20 games. When asked about his torrid-hitting right fielder, the Bruceville-Eddy skipper said, "Bailey is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Bailey was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." M. Bailey struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. In 2007 Bailey is currently batting .331 with 4 home runs and 28 RBIs. In 27 games he has reached base at a .368 rate and scored 18 runs to date. |
