Angulo Tosses Shutout Against Revolution
Sunday, June 10th, 2035
The Bakersfield Potros shut out the Cincinnati Revolution 4-0 today behind the strong pitching of Marcos Angulo. Angulo surrendered only 4 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 2.
Following the last out, Angulo appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Cincinnati manager Manny Saenz, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Angulo's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Revolution skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Potros press conference, Angulo confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Angulo said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Bakersfield manager Aaron Meador added.
Angulo has made 13 starts, tossed 86.2 innings, struck out 52 batters and walked 30. His record is 6-4 with a 2.70 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .198 batting average.
