| Breaking News |  | Friday, October 15th, 1875: Athletics Blanked by Stokes Art Stokes came out firing strikes and when the game ended, the White Stockings hurler had struck out 0 in leading Chicago over the Philadelphia Athletics 6-0. Stokes allowed just 2 hits in the ballgame.
