 | NL Gives Outstanding Pitcher Award Monday, October 8th, 1877: The Pitcher of the Year Award for 1877 has been presented and the National League winner is John Storey of Boston.
"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Storey. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Red Caps star told reporters.
Storey excelled with an impressive 22-19 record in 44 starts. In 351 innings he yielded 374 hits and 51 walks, while striking out 94 and compiling a fine 2.49 ERA. | |
