The StatsLab Admin page contains general StatsLab settings as well as the functions you'll need to use every time you run a new sim and want to update StatsLab.

General Settings

General settings are settings that apply throughout StatsLab. Some StatsLab modules will have their administration specific to that module.

Server Settings

Server settings are key to StatsLab and should be the first thing you configure after installing StatsLab.

The first four settings relate to locating the HTML reports and StatsLab files. These are required for links to work properly.

HTML Root - This setting is deprecated and no longer required for configuration.

HTML Path - This is the path to the HTML relative to the Server URL. e.g. /reports/news/html

Server URL - This setting is the base server URL of the website that hosts your HTML reports. e.g. http://www.league_site.com

StatsLab Path - This is the full, web friendly URL of your StatsLab installation. While you're on the admin page, look in your browser's URL bar and type in everything up to "/admin.php".

When configuring these settings, remember that the Server URL + HTML Path should bring you to your OOTP generated report's index page.

Time Zone for Display - Choose the time zone you want StatsLab to use when displaying times on the Export Tracker and on the Draft Board.

Require Login For Access - If you check this box, StatsLab will redirect to the StatsLab login page unless the user has logged in.

Allow Non-GM's To Login - If you check this box, then users who are neither currently in control of a team nor flagged as a commissioner will be able to login. They do still need to have a human manager identity defined in OOTP. If you leave this box unchecked, only commissioners and GM's controlling a team can log in.

Previous SQL Load - This is a read only field

Export Tracker

The export tracker allows teams to see if their team export has been updated since the last time that the league file was updated. It does NOT check that the team export is complete, formatted correctly, or on a compatible version. It merely looks at file timestamps and compares them.

Enable Export Tracker - On/off switch for the export tracker. By default, it is off

League File Name - This should be the full file name of the league file, with extension. (e.g. file.lg.tar.gz)

League File Path - This is the URL of the folder in which the league file resides. (e.g. http://www.site.com/league_file)

Export File Path - This is the URL of the folder to which team exports get Ftp'd. (e.g. http://www.site.com/exports)

Files Are Renamed on Import - In OOTP, there is a setting to rename files on import. If this is turned on, then check this box as well. If not, leave this off.

OOTP Settings

These settings are common OOTP settings that are shared across all the leagues in your game, from the majors to the minors to feeder leagues.

As far as ratings scales go, bear in mind that OOTP allows for the generation of OSA ratings or actual ratings. In a league where scouts are used, you may choose to export the OSA ratings or use the StatsLab scout (see below) for ratings. Alternately, you can choose to have ratings hidden so that no ratings information will show up. If you change the ratings scale and have the development tracker turned on, you will see a sudden change to all ratings reflected in the development tracker.

Primary League ID - This is the internal ID of the league that is the primary league. In a one major league game, it's the internal ID for that league. If you don't know what it is, you can easily look it up from the URL of the league's OOTP generated web page. Go to the league home page for that league and the URL will end with "league_###_home.html". The number is the league ID. (e.g. 100)

Financials On - On/off switch for whether or not to make the financial pages in StatsLab active

Ratings Pages - On/off switch for whether or not ratings pages in StatsLab are active

Actual Ratings Scale - The scale to use for reporting current ratings on the ratings and development tracker pages.

Potential Ratings Scale - The scale to use for reporting potential ratings on the ratings and development tracker pages.

Other Ratings Scale - The scale to use for reporting other ratings on the ratings and development tracker pages. "Other" ratings include things like baserunning and fielding ratings, and typically is set the same as the Actual Ratings.

Global StatsLab Settings

Use StatsLab Scout for Ratings - If you don't want the actual or OSA ratings to show up in StatsLab, you may opt to use the StatsLab scout for ratings. The StatsLab scout can be quite opinionated about some players, and will typically have more variance than OSA or team scouts.

Development Tracker - Turning on the Development Tracker allows you to see changes to player ratings after each sim.

Track Lefty/Righty Split Ratings - By default, the development tracker doesn't track split ratings. This reduces the time it takes to run the development tracker after each sim and also reduces the amount of data stored. It's recommended to leave this setting off until you've successfully run the development tracker without it, as it can run into performance issues.

Only Allow Players To Be Added To Trade Block In Game - StatsLab's trade block tool in the Front Office section allows teams to have a trade block with additional information and links to relevant pages in StatsLab. However, since placing a player on the trade block in OOTP can impact the player's morale, this option prevents teams from adding players to the StatsLab trade block unless they're already in the game's trade block. By default, this option is not enabled, and players can be added in StatsLab regardless of their status in OOTP itself.

Administration Functions

Post Load Functions

The Post Load functions are designed to be used only after the entire SQL upload has been loaded into the database. Push the buttons in order from top to bottom.

Scout Players - Use this button to generate StatsLab scout's ratings for players. This button only displays if the StatsLab scout is enabled, and should always be run before updating development.

Update Development - Use this button to calculate player development changes since the last sim. Note that the first time this is run, it will generate the baseline for future development, so it actually takes two sims before any actual development changes will appear. This button only displays if the development tracker is active.

Calculate Park Factors - Will calculate ballpark factors based on the current data. Run this after every regular seasons sim. There's no need to run it in the offseason. It will run for all teams in all leagues.

Calculate Win Shares - Will calculate batting, fielding, and pitching win shares for each player.

Send Update Email - This button can be used to send email notification that StatsLab has been updated for your league.

User Functions

The User functions allow you to moderate access to StatsLab.

Login As - Use this function to login as another user so you can see what they are able to see.

Reset Password For - Use this function to reset a user's password to the default.

Grant StatsLab Commish Access To - Use this function to give StatsLab commissioner access to a user who isn't listed as a commissioner in OOTP. This will give full access to all the StatsLab admin pages.

Remove StatsLab Commish Access For - Use this function to remove StatsLab commissioner access for a user who has been granted that access only within StatsLab. You cannot remove StatsLab commish access for users who are listed as a commissioner in OOTP.

GM Login History

The GM login history section shows the most recent time that various users have logged in, including the IP address they accessed StatsLab from.

If you click the link to the IP Address Report, you can see a full list of IP addresses used by each user, as well as which users have used which IP address.
