They wrapped it up with a 8-3 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 3rd championship.
The La Vinotinto manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a Federation Cup."
"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Citizens manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."
During the Western Hemisphere Caribbean & South America regular season Venezuela put up a 93-61 record and finished first. |  | Friday, September 28th, 2007: La Vinotinto Shut Out Citizens, Takahashi Winner Shumei Takahashi was dynamite today and just blew China away in the 5-0 victory. The Venezuela La Vinotinto starter had everything working as he hurled a 6-hit shutout over the Citizens, recording 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"He was pure nasty out there today. I don't think any team in the would've had a chance against what he was bringing," said the China skipper during his postgame press conference.

The Venezuela left fielder said to SION reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today, and I didn't miss any of them."
L. Salinas doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off J. Ruíz in the 7th.
