| Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 1st, 2007: Western Hemisphere Picks Best Starter in August
The Western Hemisphere hitters didn't have a chance in August when the Mexico El Tricolores manager wrote "O'Donnell" on the lineup card. Outing after outing, Zachary O'Donnell held teams in check and usually got a win.
He excelled with a 5-1 mark and 2.38 ERA in 6 starts. The talented El Tricolores star pitched 45.1 innings, fanned 52 and held opposing teams to a .170 average.
For his superb mound work O'Donnell was named the WH Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers.
To this point in the season, O'Donnell shows a 14-7 record, 25 starts, 169.2 innings, 217 strikeouts and a 3.24 ERA.

 | Monday, August 27th, 2007: Western Hemisphere Names Top Player
Luis Chávez of the Mexico El Tricolores had a fantastic week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the Western Hemisphere.
For the week Chávez batted .440 (11-25) with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs.
In this current campaign Chávez is hitting at a .255 clip with 29 home runs and 85 RBIs.

 | Monday, August 13th, 2007: Maruyama Takes This Week's Trophy
With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Mexico El Tricolores catcher Nobuhiko Maruyama took the Western Hemisphere by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors.
"The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Maruyama said to SION reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere."
The 24-year-old catcher hit .381 (8-21) last week with 6 home runs, 11 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
Maruyama is currently batting .272 with 39 home runs and 92 RBIs.
