| Breaking News | | Tuesday, July 31st, 2007: David Bashes 5 Base Hits "It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Pascal David after his 5-hit performance against the Sharks. "No offense meant to Durban, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Ballpark of Koln!"
The Koln second baseman had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and pacing his club to a 11-10 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Pascal worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," David said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
P. David singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off L. Ladbrooke in the 7th.
Looking at his season stats, David has compiled a .347 batting average and a .395 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 40 runs. | | Wednesday, July 18th, 2007: Zarauza Dominates Drei Konige in Shutout Juan Zarauza of the Liverpool Scousers was one tough customer on the hill today. The Koln manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Hatherall. He kept us off balance all night."
Hatherall said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."
