"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Victory skipper in his postgame comments.
"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Bennett finished the game with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Lee made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
Bennett in 2007 has fashioned a 13-6 mark, 2.48 ERA and thrown 170.2 innings in 23 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .198 against him. |  | Tuesday, August 7th, 2007: Carlos Magnificent in Los Angeles Win Felipe Carlos of the Melbourne Victory spun his magic on the Los Angeles Stars today. He blanked them 4-0 on 3 hits, registering 6 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Carlos said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Melbourne skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone."
In season stats Carlos shows a 7-8 record in 25 games, 156.1 innings, 69 strikeouts and a 3.51 ERA. |  | Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007: Barquisimeto's Sánchez Stands Out in Shutout "He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Melbourne manager after his club suffered a 9-0 shutout at the hands of Luis Sánchez of the Barquisimeto Musicos. He held the Melbourne Victory scoreless in a 2-hit whitewash.
Sánchez was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 9 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Luis did a whale of a pitching job."
