| Breaking News |  | Sunday, September 2nd, 2007: Barquisimeto's Hutchinson Snags Pitcher of the Year Award
The Pitcher of the Year Award for 2007 has been announced and the Western Hemisphere winner is Vaughan Hutchinson of Barquisimeto. For his superb season, he has been named the league's top-rated pitcher.
This year Hutchinson stood out with a 19-1 won-lost record in 26 starts. In 209.1 innings he yielded 148 hits and 48 walks, while striking out 224 and compiling an impressive 1.63 ERA.
The SBWA will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.

Vaughan Hutchinson of the Barquisimeto Musicos blanked Montreal 7-0 on 3 hits. He rang up 7 strikeouts, keeping batters off balance all day long.

| Tuesday, July 17th, 2007: Hutchinson Takes Charge, Blanks Los Angeles
Vaughan Hutchinson really wowed everybody at the ballpark with his 5-0 shutout victory over Los Angeles today. The Barquisimeto pitcher mystified the Stars in a strong performance. He gave up 4 hits and totaled 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.
His manager said, "Vaughan had them chasing a lot of pitches and turning around and saying 'wow' . . . we were thinking the same thing, too. It was something special to watch."
This year in 20 starts, Hutchinson has recorded 15 wins and absorbed 1 loss. He has pitched 160.2 innings, allowed 116 hits, struck out 177 and has a 1.74 ERA.
