"I'm frustrated right now," said Germany left fielder Magohachi Kumagai. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Die Nationalmannschaft, that's where he will be spending the next 1-2 weeks. Kumagai suffered a hyperextended knee in today's game against England while making a defensive play. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
In 135 games Kumagai is hitting .216 this season for the Die Nationalmannschaft with 108 hits, 25 home runs, 69 RBIs, 54 walks, .309 OBP and has scored 59 runs .

Today Germany's Manfried Remmel was named Eastern Hemisphere Batter of the Month for August. He slammed opposing pitching hard all month long, bashing out 36 hits in 109 at-bats.
With a .330 batting average, 9 home runs, 27 RBIs and 27 runs scored, he was a solid choice.
This season in 131 games, Remmel has hit at a .325 clip with 165 hits, 24 home runs, 87 RBIs and 90 runs scored.
