He finished his outstanding season with a .333 batting average, 150 hits, 5 home runs, 42 RBIs, .432 OBP and 82 runs scored.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season. |  | Monday, September 3rd, 2007: Juan Rojas Picked WH's Best Hitter A great year at the plate is often interrupted by injuries and slumps that crop up through the long season. Not the case for shortstop Juan Rojas, who nailed down the Western Hemisphere Batter of the Year Award with his strong consistent output from start to finish.
He put up a .319 average and .388 on-base percentage in 2007 as he totaled 136 hits, 28 doubles, 6 triples, 7 home runs, 58 RBIs and 70 runs scored.
For being named the WH's top hitter, Rojas will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. |  | Sunday, September 2nd, 2007: Pitcher of the Year Award Goes to Beijing Hurler The 2007 Eastern Hemisphere Pitcher of the Year Award has gone to Beijing Imperials ace Liang-hsi Miao after a stellar 18-3 season.
In 26 starts he notched 195.2 innings, 209 strikeouts and a 1.61 ERA. Miao held opposing hitters to a .200 batting average, walking 36.
