Thursday, August 23rd, 2007: Bad News for Kiwis, Gillin Injured
The Kiwis received bad news this morning. Sam Gillin will miss 1-2 weeks due to back spasms. In the New Zealand-Colombia game he sustained the injury while throwing the ball. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Gillin sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."

This season Gillin has hit at a .326 clip with 51 RBIs, 8 home runs and 100 runs scored. He has played in 125 games.
