International Federation of Baseball News Article | | | Sunday, July 22nd, 2007: Chu Hurls Mexico to Shutout Win "Wang Chu is really a good pitcher when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Mexico hurler tossed a complete game 4-hit shutout against the New Zealand Kiwis.
"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Chu. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."
Chu walked 1 and struck out 12 in the 4-0 victory.
This year Chu has made 21 starts, thrown 138.2 innings, fanned 138 batters and walked 57. His won-lost record is 8-2 with a 3.63 ERA. | |
